Avoid waxing if your skin has recently been sunburnt, if you are on Roaccutane or if you have any infection or skin disease. Any cuts, abrasions, moles and bruises will be waxed around, avoiding the actual site.
If you’re having a Brazilian wax after a long, hot day feel free to use the wet wipes in the salon. Protect the waxed area from direct exposure to the sun for 24 hours after waxing. Wash your hands before touching the newly waxed area. Avoid wearing tight clothing for 24 hours after waxing.
Heat treatments – saunas, hot baths, sunbeds and swimming must be avoided for 24 hours after waxing. To prevent ingrown hairs start gently exfoliating the skin 2-3 days after waxing and repeat every 3-5 days. This will also ease further waxing treatments and reduce pain during the waxing process.
For exfoliation use sea salt, as it has a drawing, cleansing effect and prevents build-up of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Regular exfoliation makes the skin smoother and helps prevent ingrown hairs.
Talcum powders, deodorants, anti-perspirants, perfumes, self-tanning products should not be applied over the treated areas during the first 24 hours.
Moisturise daily to prevent dry skin.
